Yes, you heard that right, there is an actual Starcraft miniatures game coming in 2026! In all fair assumption, games like this rarely fly under the radar, so I suppose that you might already hear this from another source. Still, we’d love to get you hyped a little more and why you should give this game a chance.
For a game coming in 2026, with the past slur of games already on the market, all saying they are innovative, this game seems to really do the trick. It really is innovative and feels more a computer game than a tactical wargame. Let’s take a look at what’s already known about the game.

The Confirmed Armies and Models of the Starcraft Miniatures Game
If you haven’t been living under a rock, this section of the blog must sound like music to your ears. The Korpulu system is filled with 3 main races, being the Terrans, Zerg and Protoss. Not a lot is known of the Protoss yet, with just one unit revealed in the form of a special convention model, but the other two races are already filled with a lot of nice models. Do know that new units still have to be revealed, so the lists might grow a bit still.
We have the Terrans:
– Jim Raynor
– Marines
– Medics
– Goliaths
What we know now about the playstyle of the Terrans, is that they favor good positioning, and firepower as main feats of the army.
Then there were Zerg:
– Kerrigan
– Zerglings
– Roaches (yes, we have a special role in the game teehee
– Queens
– The Nidus Worm
The Zerg are centered around swarming and massive big armies that are expendable, putting pressure on the opponent to force them into positions that are more favorable for the Zerg player than the opponent.

And the Protoss:
– Zeratul
– more units still not revealed
Probably the army with the least amount of models, but surely the most dangerous up close. Assuming you have more specialized elite units than expendable ones.
Knowing this, this seems to be one of the games that actually has different play styles and tactics to each of their armies. This also pushes players to get the most out of the armies and have the most fun while building it. Next to this, it also motivates you as a player to think different about winning conditions towards the opponent. How you want to win is just as important as what you use to try to win.
Mechanics Straight out of the Starcraft computer game
What would a wargame adaptation be without some cool mechanics that made the game great in the first place? A fail, so the worked on that as well. We have the standard i-go-you-go alternating turn sequence we are used to seeing in modern games. Besides that we have fog of war, supply based reserves, and regular dice. The last one seems a far-fetched idea these days as a lot of games use specialized dice.
The Fog of war mechanic is not really explained how they implement this. They did say that the mechanic forces players to plan ahead and gives an element of surprise.
One of the bigger surprises of Starcraft is the supply based reserves. This means you never run out of units and the game keeps going without being completely obliterated. There is tactical depth involved and makes the game focus more on tactical decision-making rather than just shooty battles.
When we know more about the mechanics you will surely hear it here on the blog, because we are following the game VERY close. What else can we do with a game that combines both first loves in a hobby.
Play Starcraft in Skirmish or mass-battle form
The game is built so, that you can choose the size of the battle. This means that every battle should give you the same tension and excitement as either the big or small version of the game.
I have a feeling that the size of the game is not only limited on points, but also on skills of said models. In my opinion, when you make a skirmish game, the units should feel special. I would say that Raynor or another leader with a squad go up against the same amount, in high stakes missions that actually feel heavy.
Mass battles on the other hand have more units and a central leader commanding the army. Let’s just hope they did this right, as I could not find anything about this yet.
And the Miniatures?
Well, I can say a lot about the quality of models and say nothing at all. From what I have seen, these models are up to par and some are even better than we expect from a plastic manufacturer. In other words, they are awesome, highly detailed and 100% HIPS plastic. This is the same plastic you can find in the overpriced boxes of that other company from Nottingham, but for a fraction of the price.
At this moment, you can only speculate on how they are delivered, but it’s assumable that they would be sold by unit/ special character. The only guessable exception to this rule would be the Protoss, as they are basically a specialist race. I have no idea how they will be sold. Exiting times.
All Nice, but Starcraft, when?
Pre-orders should be opened in Q1 2026, with the first deliveries starting to happen mid-March 2026. This is one of the few products that see a direct to retail release instead of the usual Kickstarter way.
We know that the first starter box contains Terran and Zerg, as the have shown the most models of these factions. Next to that, there will be individual faction boxes of both factions to start expanding the armies of the starter box.
What we don’t know is the price of the starter, but as we hinted at earlier in this blog, the price should not be as terrifyingly high as that other plastic producer. Depending on the sizes of armies in the box, I would guess the starter would be around 80 to 110 euro, which is a pretty fair price for a decent sized starter set. Once again, more on that later when we actually know what is in the sets.
Ready to Jump on the Hype train?
I for sure can say CCGwinkel.nl is. But this time not only CCGwinkel, but also Wendy’s Miniatures, where you can buy all things hobby, but no miniatures. The game itself can be pre-ordered whenever we have more information about the when and how, but for now, get on the damn hype train, because we are leaving the station towards awesome city!
You can pre-order it here if this blog (or any other for that matter) sparked your interest. You can also read another one of our blogs of course!
